The Twin City Tromsø-Gazaproject is anchored in the Twin City agreement between the Municipality of Tromsø and Gaza.This agreement was founded in 2001, and its goal is to:
- Engage young people in the Twin Cityproject between Tromsø and Gaza, and make them think long term about the work they do
- Find out if the methods behind culture- and projectwork can contribute to strengthen young peoples opportunities to affect their own situation and their future
- Anchore the external politics on a local level, and contribute to develope both young peoples perspective, and Tromsø as a city of solidarity

The project is implemented in co-operation with Kulta, which is a culture center and a professional production company for stage and street arts (located in Tromsø).
One of the projects main aims is to give the young people in Gaza the tools and methods to make a difference in their own situation. This is done mainly through building and developing their skills in
theatre/circus, film and projectmanagement. During the project-time there will also be an exchange between Tromsø and Gaza. Young people in Tromsø will be engaged in the situation of the people in Gaza,
and the people in Gaza will through the methods descriped earlier, have tools and opportunities to make a difference on their own situation in Gaza.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Troms County Council and the Municipality of Tromsø, and the temporary project-time is 3 years.
Hopefully this project will contribute to rebuild the Palestinian community from within, and the vision is to work city to city, people to people, and make lasting frindships between the city of Tromsø and Gaza.
